Mason Remanded Over Alleged Fraudulent Conversion of Motorcycle

Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 has remanded a 34-year-old mason, Alimamy Kamara, on allegations of fraudulent conversion.

Kamara made his appearance before the court to answer to a charge contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 17th August 2025, at Kowa Drive, Motormeh, Regent Village in the Mountain Rural District of Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use a blue Star TVS motorcycle bearing registration number AYE 463, valued at Thirty-Six Thousand Leones (Le36,000). The motorcycle was said to have been entrusted to him by Ibrahim Gbandia for commercial purposes.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken, as the matter is before the court on preliminary investigation.

Prosecutor Brima Kargbo, DPC 17649, informed the court that all relevant documents had been served on the accused.

In view of the seriousness of the offence, Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to 20th February 2026 for further hearing.
