Minister Chernor Bah Set to Deliver Keynote at Major Global Youth Assembly in Geneva

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 31st AFS Youth Assembly, taking place from August 12 to 14, 2026, at the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters.
Minister Bah was received upon arrival by Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador to Switzerland, Samuel U.B. Saffa.
As a member of the AFS Youth Assembly Global Leadership Council, Minister Bah is expected to deliver a keynote plenary address and lead a special fireside discussion during the three-day global gathering.
His sessions will focus on the role of civic education in empowering young people, strengthening civic engagement and driving community development, drawing on Sierra Leone’s experiences and national progress.
The 31st AFS Youth Assembly has brought together young people and leaders from more than 100 countries to discuss civic engagement, youth leadership and some of the major challenges facing communities and the wider world.
Minister Bah’s participation provides an opportunity for Sierra Leone to share its experiences in civic education and youth empowerment while engaging with international stakeholders on strategies for strengthening young people’s role in community and national development.
