Minister Sandy Placed on Leave Amid Staff Complaints and Alleged Altercation

The Minister of Works and Public Assets Dennis Sandy, has been directed to halt all administrative leave, pending a full review, following an unspecified number of complaints from staff.

Sources indicate that the most recent complaint stemmed from an alleged altercation involving the use of a cell phone by a staff member during a meeting.

The directive, dated September 22, 2025, from the Office of the President, stated that the matter had gained public attention and had been brought to the attention of the President.

The Minister's office had initiated correspondence on the subject, and State House is  also privy to audio recordings concerning the matter between the Chief Director of Public Works and the Minister.

The directive advised that the matter be put on hold, with all officers concerned remaining in their posts and performing their normal duties until a resolution is provided.

All parties concerned were reportedly informed and requested to comply.
