Ministry Summons Malador Travel Agency Over Unethical Recruitment

The Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security has summoned the Malador Travel Agency following allegations of unethical recruitment practices concerning twenty-eight Sierra Leonean nationals transported to Qatar.
According to the Ministry, they were alerted by the Sierra Leone Embassy in Qatar that the agency, working with local residents, had recruited these individuals under the guise of employment opportunities.
The Ministry expressed grave concern regarding the potential threats to the workers' safety, legal standing, and financial security. Describing the incident as a violation of established ethical standards for private recruitment firms, the Ministry has mandated that Malador Travel Agency produce authenticated employment contracts for all twenty-eight individuals within five working days.
Failure to comply with this directive could result in regulatory penalties, such as the suspension or revocation of the agency's license, and may necessitate the repatriation of the affected citizens.
The Ministry confirmed its ongoing collaboration with the Embassy in Qatar to protect the rights of these nationals and reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe and dignified labor migration.
