Miss University 2026 Unveils Brand-New Jetour Car as Grand Prize

The Miss University pageant, organised in collaboration with AYV and Africell, officially opened on Tuesday at Africell’s headquarters in Obafo, Freetown, with organisers unveiling a brand-new Jetour vehicle as the grand prize for the winner.
The prize package includes a brand-new, unused Jetour vehicle, popularly described in Sierra Leone as “tear rubber,” along with a free fuel allowance that will last until the next Miss University pageant.
Eight contestants representing universities and higher institutions across Sierra Leone are competing for the crown. They are Theresa Josephine Conteh of Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST); Grace Aliyah Bangura and Destiny Imonitie of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Sierra Leone; Winifred Samai and Dudlynette Harding of Fourah Bay College; Tigi-Dankay Kamara of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM); Mariama Neneh Kakay of the University of Makeni (UNIMAK); and Vivat Kiyamai Metnhian of Njala University.
During the opening ceremony, organisers outlined the voting system, explaining that public votes account for 20 per cent of each contestant’s overall score.
The contestants are currently in the voting phase, allowing fans, family members, friends and other supporters to vote for their preferred candidates. The votes will contribute to the contestants’ overall scores, while the remaining 80 per cent will be determined by other aspects of the competition.
The opening ceremony marks the start of a key phase of the Miss University pageant, as the eight contestants continue competing for the title, the crown and the grand prize.
