Mohamed B. Bayoh: A New Era for Bo City's Entertainment Industry

Bo City's entertainment industry has warmly welcomed Mohamed B. Bayoh, also known as Eco Bank, as the new National Entertainment Youth Coordinator.

A lively event on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at the Valentino Complex marked his official welcome.

Journalists, bloggers, cultural artists, filmmakers, fashion designers, members of the Bo Artistes Union, and local residents all gathered to show their support for Bayoh.

In his first speech, Bayoh emphasized the crucial need for peace and unity among entertainers. He encouraged them to use their talents to bring happiness to citizens and contribute to national development.

Bayoh acknowledged the current lack of a budget or external funding. He stated that he would serve as a bridge between the government and entertainers, and that together, they could create platforms to showcase talents while promoting peace.

He also advised young people to stay away from harmful substances, urging them to focus on building themselves for purpose.

Bayoh expressed deep gratitude to his mentors since his appointment, specifically mentioning Reverend Marva, Kao Denero, the CEO of Black Leo, various stakeholders, and the Bio Family.

He noted that their advice stressed an inclusive and tolerant approach in his work. Bayoh affirmed his commitment not to let them down, nor the youth of the nation, nor the Minister of Youth who provided him with this opportunity.

Stakeholders at the event were optimistic about Bayoh’s appointment. Journalist and actress Jamiru Kebbie highlighted the challenges women face in the sector, explaining that despite their potential, many cannot succeed due to a lack of support.

She believes that with unity and opportunities, the industry can make women financially independent. Franklyn Momoh, known as Panini and Public Relations Officer of the Bo Artistes Union, promised the union's full support.

Momoh stated that the Coordinator should act as a father figure to everyone and noted the Southern Region's need for investment in studios, marketing, and music videos. He welcomed Bayoh’s call for unity.

Cultural representatives Jeneba Koroma, Dr. Kposowai, and Francess Mummy Jabaty hailed Bayoh’s appointment as a blessing and urged the government to provide him with the necessary backing.

Bloggers, DJs, dancers, and fashion designers also committed their cooperation, collectively hoping that Bayoh’s leadership would attract genuine government attention to the industry.

The gathering concluded positively, with many attendees viewing Bayoh’s appointment as the catalyst for a much-needed revival of the Southern Region’s entertainment industry.
