The Motema Police Division, led by Local Unit Commander CSP Mohamed Turay, has initiated its new year celebration with a focus on strengthening community policing and partnership to foster a safe learning environment. The program features a series of educational and sporting events, including quiz, debate, and football competitions, involving ten selected secondary schools within the division.

This strategic initiative, conceived by CSP Turay, aims to popularize the principles of community policing and deepen collaboration between the police, schools, and the wider community, specifically engaging school pupils.

The academic segment of the celebration officially began on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with a keenly contested quiz competition involving schools such as Yengema Secondary School, Jaiama Secondary School, and Kono Model Academy. The debate competition is scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026, and will address critical themes related to community policing, crime prevention, and civic responsibilities.

The program will also include a football competition designed to promote unity, discipline, and teamwork among the participating schools. The entire event will conclude with an awards ceremony and dinner on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Diamond Lodge, where outstanding participants, schools, police officers, and stakeholders will receive recognition for their contributions.

The Motema Division remains steadfast in its commitment to innovative community engagement as a means of promoting peace, security, and cooperation.
