Hon. Mohamed Bangura, a sitting Member of Parliament, has formally declared his resignation from the All People’s Congress (APC). In a public statement, he apologized to his constituents for his previous political affiliation and indicated a strategic shift towards the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

During an appearance on AYV’s Hot Seat Programme, Mr. Bangura reflected on his tenure with the APC. "I offer my sincere apologies to my supporters for the disappointment caused by my decision to join the All People’s Congress Party years ago. I now recognize that I let you down, and I ask for your forgiveness," he stated.

Bangura attributed his decision to personal and political maturation. "The choice I made previously was made during my youth. Now, as an adult, married with children, I understand that political decisions necessitate a greater degree of maturity and deliberation."

He also outlined a new, more focused approach to his political engagement. "In the past, my involvement was broad... but now, I will be selective in the issues I dedicate myself to. This marks the emergence of a new Mohamed Bangura," he affirmed.

While acknowledging the merits of his former party, Bangura confirmed his intention to move on. "The APC is a respectable political party, and I maintain personal ties with many members, but I no longer wish to continue my membership."

This announcement signifies a considerable development in Mr. Bangura’s political trajectory, with observers noting that his pivot to the PDP opens a new chapter in his political career.
