Mrs Matilda Sellu Champions Transparency and Accountability on PWA Nationwide Tour

The President of the Police Wives Association (PWA), Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu, is leading a nationwide tour across key police divisions, reinforcing her commitment to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of police families.

On Tuesday, 10th, and Wednesday, 11th February 2026, Mrs Sellu engaged with police personnel and police wives in several districts. In the Northern Region, she met members of the Kabala and Mongo Police Divisions, and held similar sessions in Magburaka and Kono, covering the Motema and Tankoro Divisions. In the Eastern Region, her tour extended to the Tongor, Koindu, Kailahun, and Daru Divisions.

During the engagements, Mrs Sellu highlighted transparency, accountability, and prudent resource management as the core pillars of her leadership. She provided updates on the Association’s social and welfare projects, explaining how proceeds from PWA activities are allocated based on priority needs identified by members.

Among the key initiatives reported was the construction of nine solar-powered boreholes in police barracks nationwide, costing over Le180,000. Mrs Sellu also shared that microcredit support had been disbursed to police wives in more than eleven barracks to strengthen small businesses and promote economic empowerment. She disclosed that the Association realised net proceeds of Le375,000 from its most recent outing, all properly accounted for.

Members welcomed the updates, praising Mrs Sellu’s transparent and inclusive leadership. Interactive question-and-answer sessions allowed participants to seek clarification, raise concerns, and make recommendations, which were documented for future action.

The nationwide tour is set to continue on 12th February 2026 at Kenema Police Station and other divisions in the Southern Region. Police personnel across the visited divisions described Mrs Sellu’s leadership as pragmatic, transparent, and distinctive.
