NC3 Launches Marketplace Cybersecurity Outreach

The National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NC3) has launched a nationwide campaign across Sierra Leone's local marketplaces to educate citizens on digital safety and promote SIM card registration ahead of the upcoming deadline.

Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation alongside the National Communications Authority (NatCA), the Regional Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign moves beyond traditional settings to engage market traders and local communities directly.

During the community sessions, officials are providing guidance on recognizing online risks, protecting personal data, and navigating digital regulations. A central focus of the outreach is reminding the public to link their SIM cards to their National Identification Number (NIN) prior to the November 1, 2026 deadline.

Organizers emphasize that bringing cybersecurity awareness directly to public spaces ensures essential digital safety knowledge is accessible to all citizens, fostering a more secure online environment across the nation.
