New Kenema Police Chief Engages Commanders on Security and Public Safety

The newly transferred Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Kenema Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Osman Ibrahim Kamara, has engaged Post and Station Commanders in a familiarisation meeting aimed at strengthening leadership coordination, teamwork, and operational effectiveness.

The engagement provided an opportunity for CSP Kamara to understand existing policing structures and build strong working relationships with commanders responsible for security across the division.

Addressing the commanders, CSP Kamara emphasised the need for commitment, professionalism, discipline, and collaboration among all ranks. He urged them to remain dedicated to their duties and work collectively to maintain peace, public safety, and security throughout Kenema Division.

He also encouraged open communication with his office, calling on commanders to share operational information, raise challenges, and propose practical solutions to improve service delivery. He noted that an open-door leadership approach would strengthen trust, coordination, and the division’s response to security concerns and public needs.

CSP Kamara further stressed the importance of unity of purpose, cooperation, accountability, and collective responsibility in addressing emerging security challenges and advancing the mandate of the Sierra Leone Police.

The meeting concluded with operational updates from commanders and a renewed commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and effective policing across Kenema Division.
