Nigerian Security Guard and Accomplice sent to High Court for Robbery and Assaul

Daniel Okechuku Williams, a Nigerian national and private security guard in Kenema, and Bobor Lansana, a Sierra Leonean, were committed to the High Court for trial on 16 December 2025 by His Worship Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No. 1 in Kenema.


The two defendants appeared before the court on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery with violence, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to the law.


Inspector Alphan Samuel Musa, the prosecuting officer, informed the court that Williams and Lansana, in Kenema City, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District, conspired with unknown individuals to commit robbery with violence and assault.


The prosecutor stated that the defendants allegedly robbed Mohamed Koroma of a black bag containing a mobile phone, a power bank, and other assorted items. Williams is also accused of assaulting Koroma during the incident.


Magistrate Daboh committed both defendants to stand trial at the High Court of Sierra Leone under the 28-day rule as provided by Section 112(b)(4) of the New Criminal Procedure Act (NCPA), 2024.


On the same date, Cherinoh Foday, a Sierra Leonean civil servant, was also committed to the High Court for trial. According to the prosecution, Foday was found in possession of a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa and Kush.
