Njaluahun Chieftaincy Declaration Ends With Six Qualified, Four Disqualified
The Paramount Chieftaincy Declaration exercise in Njaluahun Chiefdom, Kailahun District, has been successfully concluded in Segbwema Town, with six of the ten aspirants declared qualified and four disqualified during the proceedings.
The exercise was conducted in accordance with the established process for Paramount Chieftaincy elections and brought together traditional authorities, stakeholders, aspirants, community members, and security personnel.
The six aspirants declared qualified are Lawrence Maada Swarray Jajua, Samuel Bobor Gbetuwa, Musa Donald Farmer Gbao, Ansumana Gbow, Christopher Amadu Coker-Jayua, and Mohamed Cliff Jajua.
According to Provincial Secretary Mr. Osis Josiah, four aspirants were disqualified. Prince Edward Monya Tambi was disqualified by the Declaration Officer after he was unable to satisfactorily substantiate his claims.
Boima Nepor Gogra Jajua was also disqualified after it was established that he was not from the recognized ruling house he represented. The Declaration Board further determined that the name appearing in the Gazette differed from the name presented to the Declaration Officer.
Alex Jinnah Bockarie Gbao was likewise disqualified during the declaration process, while Dr. Momoh Gbetuwa was disqualified following a referendum conducted during the proceedings.
The declaration exercise was conducted under heightened security arrangements, with personnel deployed from the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters and the Daru, Kenema and Kailahun Police Divisions to maintain security and public order throughout the process.
The security preparations formed part of broader measures previously undertaken by the Sierra Leone Police to support a peaceful Paramount Chieftaincy process in Njaluahun Chiefdom.
The Regional Police Commander East, ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, commended the officers and men for their professionalism and commitment to providing security during the exercise. He also thanked stakeholders and residents of Njaluahun Chiefdom for their cooperation, restraint, and peaceful conduct throughout the proceedings.
The Sierra Leone Police continues to closely monitor the security situation in the chiefdom as the Paramount Chieftaincy process moves to its next stage.
