NLe 15,000 Fine Or 5 Years Imprisonment For Ten Defendants In Kenema

Ten(10) Defendants, Moiwo Korjie, Abubakarr Mustapha, Musa Kamara, Lansana Dauda, Lansana Kennie, Abdul Turay, Jusu Moigua, Ibrahim Abdulai, Saidu Kamara and Sheku Mustapha are fined Ten Thousand Five Hundred New Leones ( NLe 10,500) or go to Jail Five years(5yrs.) Imprisonment by His Worship, Magistrate George. B. Samai of Magistrate Court No.2 in Kenema.

The Ten Defendants were arrainged in Court for unlawful gathering Contrary to Law. The charge was read to the Defendants by Emmanuel Cooper the Registrar of the court in Kenema.

According to court records, the Ten Defendants on August 13, 2026, at Talama village, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, were found unlawfully assembled without authority. All the Defendants now Convicts pleaded guilty. They were fined One Thousand Five Hundred New Leones ( NLe 1,500) or go to Jail Six Months Imprisonment each.

In another development, Foday Momoh of Majihun village was sentenced to Two(2)Months Imprisonment by Magistrate Samai for Domestic Violence Contrary to Section 2 subsection 1 (a) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007.

Foday Momoh on August 11, 2026, at Majihun village, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema District, unreasonably disposed of moveable property of quantity of Cocoa valued Five Hundred New Leones ( NLe 500), property of Foday Koroma with whom you (Foday Momoh) have Domestic relationship with to wit brother-in-law. He pleaded guilty and asked for forgiveness. He was sentenced to 2 Months Imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre ( SLCC) in Kenema.

The matters were prosecuted by PC 13536 Moseray Sylvester Alfred and PC 13492 Tonya Musa respectively.
