NOC Boss Applauds Secretary General After U-17 Wrestling Success

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC), Prince Vandy Sualley, has commended the institution’s Secretary General, Ahmed Khanou, for his exceptional leadership and significant contribution to the growth and development of the Committee.
Sualley made the remarks during a presentation highlighting the remarkable performance of Sierra Leone’s U-17 Wrestling Team, which secured an impressive five-medal haul at the 2026 West African Championships. He noted that Khanou’s strong administrative leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the Committee’s operations and elevating its profile on the international stage.
According to the NOC President, the recent wave of successes recorded across multiple sporting disciplines reflects the effectiveness of the Secretariat’s strategic direction and coordination. He emphasized that under the current leadership, the Committee has improved its capacity to support athletes and enhance Sierra Leone’s representation in global sporting competitions.
Sualley further stated that the progress being made within the NOC signals a renewed sense of purpose and professionalism, positioning the institution to play a more impactful role in national sports development.
The commendation highlights growing confidence in the leadership of the National Olympic Committee as it continues efforts to build a stronger, more structured, and competitive sporting environment for Sierra Leone.
