NRA Seals Mineret Company Over US$1 Million Tax Liability

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has sealed Mineret Company Limited over outstanding tax liabilities amounting to US$1 million, as the Authority intensifies enforcement to ensure businesses meet their statutory tax obligations.

The enforcement action was carried out on September 1, 2026, by the NRA’s Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) Department as part of ongoing efforts to improve taxpayer compliance and strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation.

According to the NRA, the action demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that businesses operating in Sierra Leone settle their outstanding liabilities and comply with the country’s tax laws and regulations.

The Authority has also announced enforcement actions against 10 additional businesses and companies as part of the ongoing exercise. However, the NRA did not disclose the names of the businesses or the specific amounts involved.

The NRA is urging businesses and taxpayers with outstanding liabilities to settle their obligations promptly to avoid enforcement measures.

It warned that failure to meet statutory tax obligations may result in enforcement action in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

The latest action forms part of the NRA’s broader efforts to strengthen taxpayer compliance and boost domestic revenue mobilisation in Sierra Leone.
