Old Edwardians Edge Bullom Stars in Thrilling Matchweek 22 Clash

Old Edwardians secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bullom Stars in a highly competitive Matchweek 22 encounter at the Approved School Field.

The match started cautiously, with both sides probing but struggling to create clear-cut chances. Defensively disciplined and compact, neither team managed to break the deadlock in the first half, sending players into the dressing room at 0-0.

Bullom Stars came close to opening the scoring after the restart, but the Old Edwardians backline held firm. The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Amara Koroma converted a precise assist from James Jusu Kanga to put the visitors ahead 1-0.

The Pilot Boys responded quickly. Seven minutes later, Alimamy Turay rose highest to head home from a corner, with substitute captain Sulaiman Turay providing the assist, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 67th minute.

However, Old Edwardians wasted little time reclaiming the lead. In the 70th minute, Mamadi Condi calmly finished to seal a 2-1 victory for the School Boys, extending Bullom Stars’ winless run to five matches.

With the win, Old Edwardians temporarily climb to third place in the league standings with 38 points. Bullom Stars will look to bounce back in an away fixture against Star Sport Academy at the SLFA Academy on Tuesday, while Old Edwardians will host East End Lions at the same venue in their Matchweek 23 clash on Saturday.
