Opposition Chief Whip Decries Mob Justice After Tragic Killing of Joshua Mansaray

Sierra Leone’s opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara, has condemned the death of young graduate Joshua Mansaray, stressing the urgent need to discourage mob justice in society.
Mansaray reportedly died after being attacked by a group of motorbike riders who allegedly mistook him for a thief. The incident occurred as he was returning home from a performance at the Youyi Building, where he had played with a live band.
According to reports, Mansaray attempted to flee after being pursued, but he was later caught and severely beaten. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries, sparking widespread grief and public concern.
In a social media post, Hon. Kamara wrote: “The death of Joshua Mansaray should teach us that mob justice must be discouraged in our societies. We demand #Justice4Joshua.”
The tragic incident has reignited public debate on the dangers of mob violence, false accusations, and the urgent need for stronger law enforcement and public sensitization.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities were yet to issue an official statement, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
