Pademba Road Court Jails Three Men Over Stolen Generator

Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 has sentenced three men to prison for conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny after they pleaded guilty to stealing a generator valued at six thousand leones.

The convicts, identified as 29-year-old electrician Alusine Kamara, 23-year-old unemployed Morlai Mansaray, and George Kamara, were found guilty in connection with the theft of a Tigi Max Generator belonging to Amadu Bangura.

According to the police charge sheet, the three men conspired with unknown persons on Sunday, 12 July 2026, at Hamilton Street, Grassfield Kissy, in Freetown, to commit theft.

The second count stated that they stole the generator belonging to Bangura, leading to their arrest and subsequent appearance before the court.

When the charges were read, all three accused persons pleaded guilty. Police Constable Thoronka K., who prosecuted the matter, informed the court that the defendants were first-time offenders.

The convicts pleaded with the court for leniency, expressing remorse and assuring the court that they would not engage in similar activities again.

In his ruling, Magistrate Fornah noted that the accused persons had shown remorse but also emphasized that they had deprived the complainant of his property.

The Magistrate subsequently sentenced each of them to six months imprisonment for the conspiracy charge and eighteen months imprisonment or restitution of the stolen generator for the larceny charge. The court ordered that the sentences be served consecutively.
