PC Election Begins Peacefully in Njaluahun Chiefdom
The Paramount Chieftaincy Election in Njaluahun Chiefdom, Kailahun District, commenced today with robust security measures in place to ensure public order and safe democratic participation.
Strategic security arrangements are being coordinated on the ground by ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, Regional Police Commander for the Eastern Region. Key command officials present include DSP Edward Kargbo, Regional Coordinator of the Operational Support Division (OSD) East, who is managing resource deployment, and DSP Abdulai Bangura, Regional Operations Officer East, who is supervising field activities and monitoring real-time developments across the chiefdom.
To address potential legal complexities during the polling process, CSP AMK Samba Esq, Head of the Legal and Justice Department for the Eastern Region, is providing on-site legal guidance.
According to authorities, security forces have been strategically positioned to safeguard voters, election officials, candidates, traditional leaders, and observers without disrupting the proceedings.
Local reports indicate that Segbwema Town and surrounding areas in Njaluahun Chiefdom remain calm and peaceful, with no security disruptions or major incidents reported.
The Sierra Leone Police issued a statement encouraging all participating parties, community members, and candidates to maintain restraint and cooperate fully with law enforcement officers throughout the duration of the election.
