Police and Media Unite in Kenema to Tackle Kush Menace Through Friendly Football Match

It was an exciting and fun-filled Saturday at the Kenema City Mini Stadium as the Sierra Leone Police (SLP East) and the Media–SLAJ East team faced off in a friendly football match aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of the Kush substance ravaging the country’s youth.


More than just a sporting event, the match served as a powerful sensitization platform blending entertainment with advocacy. The initiative, jointly organized by SLP East and SLAJ East, was chiefly pioneered by LUC Bob Musa N. Mansaray, with strong coordination by ASP Peter Luseni Ensah, the Divisional Traffic Officer of Kenema and Team Manager of the Police side.

During the event, both the Police and Media teams used the occasion to campaign against the Kush menace, urging young people to stay away from drug abuse.


On the pitch, the Police team delivered a spirited performance, defeating the Media 3–2 to claim their first-ever win over their long-time rivals. The day ended in laughter and unity, symbolizing football with a purpose entertainment fused with enlightenment.
