Regional Police Commander East, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joe Kamanda Bongay, has held a strategic security engagement with key community and security stakeholders ahead of the upcoming Njaluahun Paramount Chieftaincy Election, scheduled for August 30, 2026.

The high-level meeting brought together election aspirants—including Honourable Wuyatta Songa of Constituency 008—as well as Section and Town Chiefs of Njaluahun Chiefdom, the Provincial Security Coordinating Committee, and the Kailahun District Security Coordinating Committee. Discussions focused strictly on ensuring peace, security, and public order throughout the electoral process.

During the engagement, stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful and lawful election. ACP Bongay commended the people of Njaluahun Chiefdom for their cooperation and emphasized that the Sierra Leone Police is fully prepared to provide a safe, secure environment for citizens to exercise their democratic rights.

"The police will take all necessary lawful measures to prevent disruptions and protect the integrity of the vote,"

ACP Bongay warned, strongly condemning any forms of intimidation, violence, or lawlessness.

The Regional Commander was accompanied by DSP Edward Kargbo (Regional Coordinator, Operational Support Division) and the newly transferred Regional Operations Officer East, DSP Abdulai.
