Police Constable Testifies in Court Regarding Alleged Assault and Malicious Damage

The court heard testimony from Detective Police Constable 18235 Thoronka K.K. in the case against the defendant, Esther Lavallie, who is facing charges of assault and malicious damage.


During the proceedings at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown, DPC Thoronka K.K. detailed the handling of evidence. He explained that on May 6th, 2025, while on duty at Lumley Police Station, he received a damaged Samsung Galaxy Android phone from DPC 16998 Kargbo A. This phone was subsequently registered as exhibit F and formally tendered in court as evidence.



The charges allege that on April 17th, 2025, at Freetown Road in Lumley, Ms. Lavallie committed assault occasioning actual bodily harm against the complainant, Aminata Kpaka. Furthermore, the defendant is accused of malicious damage to the complainant's black Samsung mobile phone, valued at 13,477 Leones.


Ms. Lavallie pleaded not guilty to both charges. She was unrepresented by counsel and was subjected to cross-examination by M.L. Tarawalie Esq.


Magistrate Fornah adjourned the matter until December 8th, 2025, with the defendant's existing bail conditions remaining in effect.
