Police Deploy Personnel Across Eastern Region for APC Constituency Elections

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has deployed officers across the Eastern Region to provide security for the All People’s Congress (APC) constituency lower-level elections held on Saturday, 25 July 2026.
Ahead of the deployment in Kenema Division, the Local Unit Commander, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Kpulun, addressed officers and urged them to remain disciplined, professional, dedicated, and strictly apolitical while carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.
He reminded the personnel to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ensure that voters and other stakeholders were able to participate in a safe, secure, and peaceful electoral process.
Providing overall security coordination for the Eastern Region, the Regional Police Commander East, ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, instructed all Local Unit Commanders to maintain close coordination and deploy adequate personnel to safeguard the elections.
He reaffirmed the Sierra Leone Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the electoral exercise, stressing the importance of ensuring a peaceful environment throughout the voting process.
Police officers remain deployed at key locations across the region and continue to monitor developments as the elections progress.
As of the time of reporting, the electoral process had remained generally calm and peaceful, with the Sierra Leone Police maintaining a visible presence to boost public confidence and ensure the safety of voters and election officials.
