Police Intercept Suspected Kush Smuggler at Moala Checkpoint

On Monday, February 23, 2026, personnel of the Sierra Leone Police deployed at the Moala Checkpoint in the Kenema Division successfully apprehended a suspect identified as Sallia Sannoh, a resident of Njalla Guara Chiefdom, Kenema Division.


The arrest was executed by Inspector M. Vandy and team during a routine stop-and-search operation.


During the search, the suspect was found to be in possession of six (6) packets of dried leaf substance suspected to be Kush, which were immediately seized as evidence.


Subsequently, the suspect was taken into custody and transferred to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation and appropriate legal action.


The Sierra Leone Police reaffirms its commitment to combating drug-related offences and ensuring public safety and security through sustained patrols and checkpoint operations throughout the Division.
