Ports Authority’s Cleveland Clinches December Player of the Month Award

Ports Authority forward Joseph Cleveland has been named the Leone Rock Premier League Player of the Month for December 2025 following a series of decisive performances that helped keep the “Waterfront Boys” firmly within the league’s top three positions.

Cleveland enjoyed an outstanding month, marked by composure and efficiency in front of goal, particularly in high-pressure situations. His most notable contributions came from the penalty spot, where he delivered match-winning goals that proved crucial to his side’s campaign.

On December 5, Cleveland calmly converted an 89th-minute penalty to secure a narrow 1–0 victory over Abacha City. He repeated the feat on December 24, scoring the only goal from the spot in a hard-fought 1–0 win against Bullom Stars at the Trade Centre. Beyond his goals, his leadership, hold-up play, and influence in the final third were key factors in Ports Authority navigating a demanding December fixture schedule without defeat.

The award was keenly contested, with Cleveland edging out other in-form players including Alie Ramadan Kabia of Star Sport Academy and Amara Kamara of Bai Bureh Warriors. However, both the expert panel and fan voters cited Cleveland’s consistent match-winning impact as the decisive factor in his selection.

With the individual accolade secured, Cleveland now turns his focus to the Golden Boot race. His strong December performances have taken his season tally to three goals, placing him among the league’s leading scorers as the second phase of the Leone Rock Premier League gathers momentum.
