President Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday celebrated his 62nd birthday, marking the occasion with a message of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to national service during the opening of a high-profile leadership summit in Freetown.
The milestone coincided with the commencement of the Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium 2.0, held at the Bintumani Conference Centre, where the President served as Special Guest of Honour for the two-day gathering.
The event brought together government officials, policymakers, development partners, and citizens to reflect on leadership, governance, and the future direction of Sierra Leone’s development agenda, particularly in relation to human capital development under the government’s “Big Five” priorities.
In a social media message marking his birthday, President Bio expressed gratitude for life, leadership, and national service.
“Celebrating another incredible year, I am filled with joy and gratitude to God for guiding me this far and for all the amazing opportunities along the way,” he wrote, also thanking his family and the people of Sierra Leone for their continued support.
The Leadership Colloquium 2.0 is designed as a platform for dialogue on governance and national transformation, aligning with ongoing efforts to strengthen institutions and leadership capacity across the country.
Meanwhile, well-wishers from within Sierra Leone and the international community have continued to extend birthday messages to the Head of State, celebrating his years of service and leadership to the Republic.
