Saudi Arabia Extends Support to Sierra Leone With Date Donation

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, has donated over 3,000 units of dates to the Republic of Sierra Leone as part of its ongoing humanitarian support to the country.

The donation reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to strengthening international cooperation and providing humanitarian assistance to Sierra Leone and the wider region

The formal handover ceremony was conducted at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Freetown. His Excellency Saud Al Musad, the first resident Ambassador to Sierra Leone, presented the donation, which was graciously accepted by the Honorable Melrose Karminty, Minister of Social Welfare, representing the administration of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.

Ambassador Al Musad underscored that this initiative exemplifies Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to global humanitarian principles and the deepening of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between the two sovereign nations.

Minister Karminty extended her profound gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that Sierra Leone highly values such strategic support and remains dedicated to fostering a robust and enduring partnership.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the establishment of a fully functional Saudi Embassy in Freetown as a pivotal development that will streamline diplomatic coordination, particularly regarding pilgrimage affairs and broader geopolitical relations.
