Security Guard Accused Of Stealing NLe40,000 Motorcycle Granted Bail

Security guard Jakamaiah Senessie, 28, has appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, burglary and larceny.

Senessie was granted bail after being accused of breaking into a dwelling house and allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Hill Station in the Mountain Rural District of the Western Area of Freetown, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., Senessie allegedly broke into the dwelling house of Abu Bangura with intent to steal.

The prosecution further alleged that he stole a red UN-registered Apache motorcycle valued at NLe40,000, belonging to Abu Bangura, while the motorcycle was in the custody of Matilie Private Security.

When the charges were read and explained to Senessie, he did not enter a plea as the matter is at the committal stage.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Eric A. Deen informed the court that Senessie had been served with copies of the case and inquiry files, which he acknowledged receiving.

Magistrate Jah granted Senessie bail in the sum of NLe50,000 with two sureties.

The sureties are required to produce valid identification cards, while the bail is subject to approval by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.

The matter was adjourned to September 14, 2026, for further proceedings.

The allegations against Senessie have not been proven in court, and he remains entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
