On March 8, 2026, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed "Jagaban" Kamara hosted a significant Iftar gathering at Wilberforce Village Field in Freetown.
The event brought together over 6,000 worshippers representing more than 150 mosques across the Western Area, serving as a powerful demonstration of community cohesion during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The assembly was notable for its interfaith dimension, featuring prominent religious leaders including Apostle Fredrick Mansaray, President of the Council of Pastors Sierra Leone. This cross-communal presence underscored Jagaban’s commitment to national unity and inclusive leadership. During his address, Jagaban emphasized that meaningful progress in Sierra Leone requires both divine guidance and collective grassroots support.
Sheikh Alie Kallay, who led the evening prayers, highlighted the importance of supporting leaders dedicated to public welfare and the improvement of essential services. In his policy remarks, Jagaban outlined a vision for institutional support, promising to formalize assistance for religious bodies through the construction of facilities and the provision of stipends for clergy.
The presence of key APC district officials further signaled the event’s strategic importance ahead of the National Delegates Conference. By integrating religious solidarity with political outreach, the gathering positioned Jagaban as a unifying figure focused on sustainable national development and social welfare across diverse constituencies.
