Sierra Leone’s National Dodgeball Team Clinches 3rd Place at 2025 CAN Championship

Sierra Leone’s national dodgeball team has earned widespread acclaim after securing third place at the 2025 CAN Dodgeball Championship held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, finishing behind champions Ivory Coast and runners-up Morocco.
The team demonstrated skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, reflecting the rapid growth and rising potential of Sierra Leone’s dodgeball scene. Their podium finish has drawn admiration from fans, officials, and sports enthusiasts across the nation.

Head Coach Umaru George praised the Local Organizing Committee for a smoothly run competition and reaffirmed his team’s commitment to continue making Sierra Leone proud on the international stage.
Individual players also shone, with Sallu Conteh earning the Best Catcher Award and Foday Sidikie Bangura receiving the Best Shooter Award, among other accolades.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for Sierra Leonean dodgeball, highlighting both the talent and discipline of the players and the growing prominence of the sport in the country.
