Sierra Leone Triumphs at BCA Kalahari Women's T20 Tournament

The Sierra Leone Senior Women's Cricket Team claimed victory at the BCA Kalahari Women's T20i Tournament, finishing with an impeccable record of seven wins from seven matches in Gaborone, Botswana.
In the final match on Wednesday, Sierra Leone competed against the host nation, Botswana. Sierra Leone scored 107 runs for five wickets in their allotted 20 overs and subsequently restricted Botswana to 68 runs for nine wickets, achieving a commanding 39-run victory.
Several players from Sierra Leone received individual honors for their exceptional performances throughout the tournament. Anne Marie Monica Kamara was awarded Bowler of the Series, having taken 12 wickets in seven innings with an outstanding economy rate of 1.79. Captain Aminata Kamara and Emma Kamara also delivered notable performances, each securing 10 wickets to finish second and third, respectively.
Marie Turay excelled in the field, earning the Best Fielder award with seven dismissals in seven innings. Captain Aminata Kamara was additionally recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Celina Bull, Emma Kamara, and Ann Marie Monica Kamara also achieved high placements, finishing second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the MVP rankings.
This achievement on the African stage is expected to boost Sierra Leone's position in the ICC Women's T20i rankings and is likely to inspire increased participation among local female cricketers.
Building on this success, the team is eager to compete in the upcoming July ICC Qualifier, with their NWACC standing now enhanced.
