Sierra Leone's U-17 national team commenced their WAFU A U-17 Qualifiers campaign in Mali with a 1-1 draw against Senegal. Musa A. Samura secured an early lead for the Young Leone Stars in the 12th minute.
However, Souleymane Faye of Senegal netted the equalizer, resulting in both teams sharing the points.
Sierra Leone is now set to face Mauritania on October 9, while Guinea will compete against Senegal in the other group fixture. Under the leadership of Head Coach Dominic Victor Konneh, the Young Leone Stars demonstrated notable determination and promise, fostering optimism for their performance in the tournament.
