SLFA Annuls Falaba District Football Elections Due to Procedural Irregularities

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Electoral Appeals Committee has annulled the Falaba District Football Association (FDFA) Executive Elections, initially scheduled for June 2025, due to significant procedural irregularities.

This decision was made following an appeal by Mr. Balla Kargbo, Acting Chairman of the FDFA, who cited violations of electoral and ethical standards.

Under the chairmanship of M.C.L. Stronge Esq., the Appeals Committee determined that the delegate list was published without the knowledge or consent of FDFA Executive Members. This contravened Articles 62(3), 66(1), and 66(2) of the 2019 SLFA Statute, Article 1 of the 2012 Electoral Code, and Articles 15 and 16 of the 2020 Ethics Code.

The Committee concluded that this unauthorized publication compromised transparency, fairness, and democratic integrity.

As a result, the SLFA Electoral Committee is now required to conduct new elections for both the Falaba and Karene District Football Associations by July 10, 2025, ensuring strict adherence to SLFA statutes.
