The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has launched a nationwide referees’ training programme aimed at improving officiating standards across the country.

Following the recent FIFA Member Association Course for Elite Referees’ Instructors & Assessors held in Bo, the SLFA directed instructors to share the knowledge gained with referees in all five regions.

The training tour began on Saturday, 25th October 2025, in Kenema, combining practical field exercises with theoretical sessions that included FIFA RED demonstration videos. Abu Bakarr Cantona Kallon, Secretary General of the Eastern Region Football Association, praised the SLFA’s commitment to integrity and professionalism in refereeing.

The programme continued in Bo on Sunday, 26th October and will proceed next weekend to the North-East and North-West regions, concluding in the Western Area the following weekend.
