SLFA Launches Second Phase of CAF C Diploma Coaching Course in Freetown

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially commenced the second phase of the

Confederation of African Football (CAF) C Diploma Coaching Course, part of its ongoing effort to strengthen football coaching standards across the country.

The training program, which began on Friday, March 6, 2026, is being hosted at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown. Organized by the Association’s Technical Department, the course brings together aspiring and practicing coaches from across Sierra Leone for an intensive training program.

The initiative aims to enhance the technical capacity of local coaches through modern coaching techniques, combining classroom sessions with practical field exercises. Participants are receiving instruction in player development, tactical awareness, match preparation, and contemporary coaching methodologies, all aligned with CAF standards.

Speaking at the opening, SLFA Technical Director John Edward Keister described the course as a vital step toward building a stronger technical foundation for the future of football in Sierra Leone.

The program forms part of a broader technical development agenda championed by SLFA President Babadi Kamara, whose administration continues to prioritize capacity building and professional development within the country’s football sector.

The CAF C Diploma course will run over the coming days, with successful participants expected to receive CAF-recognized coaching certification upon completion.
