The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced the formation of an Adhoc Committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of former Mighty Blackpool FC player, Bureh Ganso Koroma.
The decision, made by the SLFA Executive Committee under Article 55 of the SLFA Statutes, comes after concerns were raised about alleged neglect by officials of the SLFA and the National Men's Team. Bureh sustained severe injuries during an on-pitch collision in May 2025 during a friendly match between the Leone Stars and Mighty Blackpool FC, which later led to his untimely death.
The newly established committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough and independent inquiry, ensuring accountability, and making recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The committee comprises:
Mr. Victor Idrissa Lansana – Chairman
Mr. Sadick Deen Nyarkoh – Vice Chairman
Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu – Member
Alhaji Abubakarr S. A. Rahman – Member
Ms. Victoria Conteh – Member
The committee is expected to commence work immediately and submit its findings and recommendations to the SLFA Executive Committee within the stipulated timeframe.
In a statement, the SLFA reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of player welfare, safety, and professional conduct across all levels of football in Sierra Leone.
