Updated: Mar 27

The Sierra Leone People's party has asked for peace, decorum and civic-mindedness ahead of the June 24th 2023 elections, to prevent violence. This was stated in a press release issued out on Tuesday 14th March and signed by the Secretary General Umaru Napoleon Koroma.

The release focuses on rejecting hate peace with the potential to incite a civil or political unrest.

The Secretary General warned against activities such as misinformation and disinformation, that could lead to the situation of the previous civil war that lasted eleven years.

He called on other political parties to devise peaceful strategies for the upcoming elections to protect next generation kids.
