Sports Ministry, NSA Commend Security Forces for Bo Stadium Clean-Up
The Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have commended the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and other security institutions for conducting a major clean-up exercise at the Bo Stadium.
The exercise was conducted on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with personnel from the RSLAF leading the initiative, supported by officers from the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.
Sports Minister Hon. Augusta James-Teima and NSA Executive Director Mohamed Alphaka Conteh praised the participating security personnel for their commitment and professionalism during the exercise.
According to the Ministry and the NSA, the initiative reflects collaboration between civilian institutions and the security sector, while demonstrating the contribution of security personnel to national development beyond their primary responsibilities.
The clean-up exercise focused on improving the hygiene and general condition of the Bo Stadium ahead of sporting activities and other events at the facility.
The Ministry of Sports and the NSA also reaffirmed their commitment to working with the RSLAF, SLP and other security institutions to maintain and protect sporting facilities across Sierra Leone.
The authorities expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff and personnel of the RSLAF, the Inspector General of Police and members of the SLP, as well as the Director General and officers of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.
They also recognised the Bo City and District Councils for their collaboration and support towards the exercise.
The initiative highlights ongoing efforts by government institutions and local authorities to maintain sporting infrastructure and provide cleaner and safer facilities for athletes, supporters and other users.
