Teen Sets Aunt's House Ablaze After Phone Confiscation: Community in Shock

A 17-year-old student from Model Senior Secondary School set fire to her aunt's residence on Savage Street. This incident occurred after her aunt confiscated her phone due to her persistent involvement in romantic relationships.

The girl, who had been raised by her aunt since childhood after being brought from the provinces, had previously threatened to set the house on fire. This threat was realized, and the fire subsequently spread to a neighboring property before being contained.

The current living arrangements for the girl and her aunt remain uncertain. Neighbors expressed shock and disbelief at the girl's actions, concerned about her potential for more severe actions in different circumstances. 

They have suggested that she be removed from her aunt's care. It is currently unclear whether law enforcement is involved in the situation.
