Twins Accused of Fatal Stabbing as Witness Testifies in Court
A local court has heard a dramatic eyewitness account of the events surrounding the tragic death of Mumunie Bah, 46, who was allegedly stabbed to death by his twin brother during an altercation earlier this year.
Testifying before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2, prosecution witness Alie Bangura detailed the confrontation that occurred on July 4, 2026, at the PWD Quarters in Sumaila Town. The victim’s twin brothers, Alhassan and Alusine Fofanah, currently face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and assault.
Bangura, a local businessman and brother of the deceased, recounted that he and Mumunie Bah had gone to purchase food on Model New Road when the situation escalated. Bangura alleged that Alhassan Fofanah approached him aggressively, calling him a "rude boy" and demanding he not speak to him.
According to the testimony, Alusine Fofanah then pushed Bangura into a gutter. When Mumunie Bah arrived to intervene and question the brothers' actions, Alusine allegedly slapped him, and Alhassan grabbed him. Bangura described trying to separate the men before feeling a sharp pain on his forehead and noticing he was bleeding from a head wound.
Bangura testified that he witnessed Alhassan Fofanah wielding a knife and stabbing Mumunie Bah, delivering the fatal injury. Bangura then fled to seek assistance, returning with another brother, Milton John, to find Mumunie Bah already deceased. Bangura himself was hospitalized for a week due to his injuries.
During a rigorous cross-examination, defense counsel A. Maddie questioned Bangura regarding his presence at the scene and his relationship with the defendants.
Bangura, who stated he had known the twins for approximately one year, stood firm on his account and denied suggestions that he had previously claimed he was not at the location.
The case has been adjourned to September 16, 2026, as the prosecution prepares to call further witnesses to the stand.
