Two men have been handed four-month prison sentences for the theft of imported zinc sheets, following a ruling at Pademba Road Court No. 5.
Sallieu Kanu and Tamba Senessie were convicted after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a felony. Magistrate Julia Mary Gbloh delivered the verdict on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, emphasizing the upholding of the rule of law.
Police reports indicate that Kanu was apprehended on Sunday, August 31, 2025, on Dundas Street in Western Freetown. He was found to be in possession of eleven sheets of brown imported zinc, valued at NLe 562 each, totaling NLe 6,182.
The stolen property belonged to Kaday Bah.
Both Kanu and Senessie admitted their guilt when the charges were read and explained. Magistrate Gbloh, acknowledging their swift pleas and the time saved for the court, sentenced each man to four months imprisonment.
They will serve their sentences at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
