The Women’s Forum Sierra Leone (WFSL) has formally initiated a specialized one-day capacity-building seminar for women-led civil society organizations (CSOs) within the Moyamba District.
This initiative is executed under Outcome D of the Spotlight Initiative 2.0, a comprehensive three-year strategic program focused on the eradication of all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Facilitated by Idrissa Sesay, this rigorous training session aims to mitigate identified capacity deficiencies among local sub-grantees. The curriculum is structured to enhance organizational competency across four primary functional areas:
Leadership: Enhancing the capacity of women to provide effective communal leadership.
Governance: Implementing robust, accountable, and transparent institutional frameworks.
Financial Management: Developing expertise in sustainable fiscal planning and resource optimization.
Safeguarding: Establishing stringent protocols to protect vulnerable populations and maintain institutional integrity.
This program represents a coordinated effort to combat gender-based violence, facilitated through strategic multilateral partnerships. The initiative is led by WFSL with technical support from UN Women, in cooperation with the Government of Sierra Leone, the United Nations, and the European Union.
By strengthening the structural foundations of these grassroots CSOs, the Spotlight Initiative 2.0 seeks to establish a sustainable and resilient protection framework for women and girls throughout the region.
