Wife Accused of Fatally Stabbing Husband

Isata Bendu appeared in court on Thursday, July 3, 2025, charged with manslaughter for allegedly stabbing her husband to death with a knife on April 2nd at Aberdeen Road.
On the same day, Isata Bendu was again present before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah, facing allegations of fatally stabbing her husband. She is being tried on a charge of manslaughter, in violation of the law.
The charge sheet indicates that on April 2, 2025, at Aberdeen Road in Freetown, Bendu unlawfully caused the death of Mustapha Bangura.
When the charge was read and explained to her, the accused did not enter a plea as the court was conducting a preliminary investigation.
During the proceedings, Prosecutor ASP Ibrahim S. Mansaray informed the court that the exhibit clerk, who was supposed to testify and present the murder weapon, was absent due to an unavoidable official commitment. Consequently, he requested an adjournment.
The accused was remanded to the male correctional facility in Freetown, and the case was adjourned to July 10, 2025, for further proceedings.
