Youth Ministry, KenDSU Discuss Opportunities for Students Across Kenema District

The leadership of the Kenema District Students Union National (KenDSU), led by its National President, Ms. Sandra Cowan, has engaged the Ministry of Youth Affairs in a bid to establish a sustainable partnership focused on advancing youth and student development in Kenema District.

The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry on Thursday, 23 July 2026, where they were received by the Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh.

During the meeting, Minister Sannoh welcomed the initiative, describing collaboration between government institutions and student organizations as essential to promoting youth empowerment, leadership development, skills training, and national growth.

Discussions centered on several areas of mutual interest, including youth capacity building, educational support, entrepreneurship opportunities, civic engagement, and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and prospects of students and young people across Kenema District.

Speaking on behalf of KenDSU, National President Sandra Cowan reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry to create opportunities for students and ensure that young people’s voices are considered in national development efforts.

The engagement ended with both sides expressing their commitment to building a productive and lasting partnership that will support the empowerment, growth, and development of students and youths throughout Kenema District.
