24-Year-Old Remanded for Theft of Commercial Vehicle

A 24-year-old male, Dauda Kamara, has been remanded in custody following a court appearance on charges of fraudulent conversion of a motorbike entrusted to him for commercial operation.


The accused appeared before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown, facing a charge of fraudulent conversion, in contravention of Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.




According to the details of the offense, on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, in Crabtown, Western Area, Freetown, Kamara is alleged to have fraudulently converted to his personal use a property belonging to another, specifically, a TVS HLC 125 motorcycle, black in color, with registration number AOZ 633, valued at fifteen thousand Leones (15,000).


The motorcycle had been entrusted to him by Momodu Bangura for the purpose of commercial riding.


Upon the reading and explanation of the charge to the accused, no plea was entered.




The prosecutor, Inspector T. Macfoy, requested a brief adjournment to present her subsequent prosecution witness.


In the interim, Magistrate Kallon denied bail and remanded the accused to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.


The case has been adjourned to July 8th, 2025.
