28-year-old detained in connection with the theft of an iPhone11

Ibrahim Kamara, a 28-year-old businessman, has been remanded in custody after appearing before a Freetown magistrate on charges of stealing an iPhone 11 Pro Max and cash, with a combined value exceeding eleven thousand Leones.
Kamara's initial appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown concerned a charge of larceny, in contravention of Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The particulars of the offense state that on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Fullah Choice, Gloucester Regent Road, in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly stole one blue-black iPhone 11 Pro Max, valued at ten thousand Leones, in addition to one thousand Leones in cash, totaling eleven thousand Leones (Le 11,000). The aforementioned property is believed to belong to Adama Sesay.
Upon the reading and explanation of the charge to the accused, no plea was entered.
The prosecutor, Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya, requested a brief adjournment to facilitate the presentation of his initial witness.
Concurrently, Magistrate Samura denied bail and ordered the remand of the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned until July 2, 2025.
