Businesswoman Mishella Koroma Charged with Cocaine Trafficking at FNA

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Freetown International Airport in Lungi, Port Loko District, Northern Province, businesswoman Mishella Koroma was apprehended and accused of several drug-related offenses.
According to the particulars of the offence, she was found collecting, dealing in, and transporting a prohibited drug, specifically, Koroma is alleged to have been in possession of two small parcels of cocaine without lawful authorization.
These actions led to her arraignment on four charges before Magistrate John Manso Fornah, on Monday 30th June 2025, at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.
The charges include collecting a prohibited drug without lawful authority, dealing in a prohibited drug without lawful authority, and transporting a prohibited drug without lawful authority, all contrary to sections 7(b) and 7(c) of the National Drug Control Act 2008.
She also faces a charge of possessing a prohibited drug without lawful authority, in violation of Section 8(a) of the same Act.
During her initial court appearance, Koroma did not enter a plea as the matter is still in a preliminary investigation stage. Prosecutor DPC 18235 Kabbie K. Thoronka requested an adjournment to present the prosecution's first witness. The defense is being handled by C. Pujeh Esq.
Magistrate Fornah denied bail, emphasizing the grave nature of the alleged offenses. Koroma has been remanded to the female correctional facility in Freetown, with the case adjourned to July 2, 2025.
