The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has concluded its Referees Refresher Course in Bo City, with 64 referees set to be selected to officiate in both the male and female leagues for the 2025/26 season.

The program, launched by SLFA President Babadi Kamara, aimed to prepare both elite and young referees ahead of the new league season. Referees Manager Frankly Angel Foray Marah coordinated the course in collaboration with Sierra Leone National Referees Association President Alhaji Sanusie Rashid and Acting Referees Committee Chairman Alhaji Daudu Williams.

As part of the initiative, referees from across the country were assessed through a nationwide tour covering all five regions. A total of 108 referees were shortlisted and later gathered in Bo for the final selection process, which included both fitness and theoretical evaluations.

During the closing ceremony, President Babadi Kamara commended the referees and facilitators for their dedication. He emphasized that the integrity of the league begins with referees and urged them to take their roles seriously.

“Refereeing is a long-term career take it seriously. If any team wins the league, let it be on merit, and if a team is relegated, let it be because they truly deserve it,” President Kamara stated.

Referees Manager Frankly Angel Foray Marah praised the SLFA President for attending the course, noting that it was the first time in history an SLFA President had done so.
