Abacha City Shock Champions Bo Rangers with Stunning 2-0 Victory

Abacha City FC recorded one of the biggest upsets of the Leone Rock Premier League season after defeating defending champions Bo Rangers 2-0 at the Approved School Field on Thursday, 9th July 2026.

Both teams started the encounter with a 4-4-2 formation, creating several attacking opportunities through the wings as they searched for an early breakthrough.

Abacha City’s pressure paid off shortly before halftime when Madieu Mansaray’s strike resulted in an unfortunate own goal by Bo Rangers goalkeeper Noah Sesay, giving the hosts a crucial lead heading into the break.

Bo Rangers returned in the second half determined to find an equalizer, but Abacha City’s defense remained organized and disciplined, frustrating the league champions’ attacking efforts.

The hosts sealed the victory deep into stoppage time when James Kargbo delivered a well-placed cross, which Abdulrahman Kamara converted in the 90+4th minute to secure a memorable 2-0 triumph.

Despite the impressive result, Abacha City remain in the relegation zone. Defender Alya Kamara was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance at the back, which helped his side secure all three points.
